Planned resumption of Rehearsals and Concerts

We are delighted to say that we will be restarting Zoom rehearsals on Monday 19 April and then, hopefully, returning to face-to-face rehearsals in May, at the Sheringham Little Theatre. We will be preparing to sing John Rutter’s Mass of the Children.

If all goes according to plan, we will perform Mass of the Children on 10 July 2021 in Cromer Parish Church. This will be a joint performance with Broadland Youth Choir and a small orchestra. The soprano soloist will be Zaira Palumbo who is also musical director of Broadland Youth Choir.

Sadly, it will not be possible to present the hoped-for Spring events but we very much hope to be able to hold our popular Come & Sing in October and to perform Joseph Haydn’s wonderful oratorio The Creation in November.

Before the pandemic SCCS were able to commission Thomas Hewitt Jones to compose Seasons thanks to a bequest from the estate of the late Barbara Proctor, a former long standing member of the choir. We originally planned to perform this beautiful piece of music in April 2021 but the decision has been taken to delay this performance until April 2022.
