Sponsorship
Wherever possible the Society seeks to gain appropriate funds to supplement the income from membership subscriptions, ticket sales etc. in order to undertake a many and varied performance programme as well as occasionally:
- commissioning new music
- performing with leading orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra and London Mozart Players
- offering free Come & Sing workshops
Our Funders
Over recent years, we are most grateful to have received:
- significant grants for the arts from Arts Council England and Orchestras Live (in partnership with North Norfolk District Council);
- valued regular support from our local authorities: Norfolk County Council, NNDC, Sheringham and Cromer Town Councils;
- contributions from local charities: John Jarrold Trust, Foyle Foundation, Geoffrey Watling Charity, Ernest Cook Trust, Gresham’s Foundation;
- special offers: Co-op Bank, Tesco, Norwich and Peterborough Building Society; and
- various other free-of-charge assistance, e.g. pro bono support from Lawyers Volunteering for the Arts.
Commercial Sponsorship
We are also always pleased to work with commercial sponsors either for individual concerts or a whole season. The main vehicle for this has been Programme advertising. We are especially interested in developing closer relationships with commercial interests in our two founder towns. Opportunities for sponsorship can be explored by contacting us.
Fundraising Events
Every year Members run one or two fund-raising social events, for example Open Garden days and “Quiz and Chips” nights. We greatly appreciate assistance received from friends and supporters who join us for these enjoyable events.
Donations
Donations from private individuals are also hugely welcomed as are the legacies which we have been fortunate to receive, enabling us to fund ventures which we could not otherwise afford. One such is our recent commissioned work ‘Seasons’ from renowned composer, Thomas Hewitt Jones, dedicated to the Society and in memory of our benefactor, a long-term member.
